We have a chance to make a difference!
I would like to invite all members who are willing, to have their voices
heard at the 2012 Nar-Anon World Conference this April. This is a chance for
each member to make a difference in the fellowship through active and
informed participation in guiding our fellowship.
There are 22 motions being put to the fellowship for Group Conscience. All
of these motions were created by your fellows in an effort to further our
one purpose; to help families of addicts. Now it is our time to review these
motions in your groups, discuss them, and then put each motion to a Group
Conscience.
Your group’s Group Conscience will be taken by your Group Service
Representative (GSR) to the Southern California Regional Assembly meeting on
February 11, 2012, for discussion and a Regional Group Conscience. As
Regional Delegate, it is my honor and privilege to take the Regional Group
Conscience to the World Service Conference in April 2012 and vote the will
of the Region. I have attached a “ballot” you may choose use to help you
tally your votes. Please refer to the 2012 Conference Agenda Report (CAR)
for complete explanation of all motions. The CAR can be downloaded from the

I have organized some Skype meetings that all interested members are
encouraged to attend. If you are not familiar with Skype it is a free “voice
over the Internet” service that will allow any number of us to hold a
conference call. It is an easy download and install. I recommend each
participant get a headset with microphone, rather than using the computer
speakers. My Skype Name is ScottFromSB. Like other social networking sites,
you can “look me up” and send a friend request ahead of the meeting you wish
to attend, so I can include you in the call. I will schedule an hour for
each meeting. If we need more time, I am happy to run longer.

I would like to suggest that in January, groups spend a few hours outside
the normal meeting time and review each of the motions in the Conference
Agenda Report. After discussion, your GSR can tally the group conscience on
a convenient ballot form I have provided at this link. GSRs have until the
February 11, 2012 Regional Assembly to gather their Group Conscience on the
motions.
